Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association
The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) is a non-profit corporation and a voluntary membership organization . The members of PIAA consist of almost all the public junior high/middle and senior high schools, some of the Charter and Private junior high/middle schools and many of the Charter and Private senior high schools in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Generally stated, the function of the PIAA is to develop and enforce rules regulating interscholastic athletic competition, which are authorized or adopted by the member schools. The PIAA is the governing body of athletics in Pennsylvania. Williamsport Area School District is a member of the PIAA.
PIAA District IV
PIAA District IV serves the athletic needs and administration of public and private schools in the following counties: Bradford, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga and Union. Williamsport Area School District is located in District IV.
PIAA District II
Williamsport participates in sub-regional tournaments, to qualify for the PIAA state tournament through District II in the following sports: Boys & Girls Soccer, Baseball & Softball
PIAA District VI
Williamsport participates in sub-regional tournaments, to qualify for the PIAA state tournament through District VI in the following sports: Football, Boys/Girls Cross Country, Boys/Girls Tennis and Boys/Girls Swimming & Diving
Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference
Williamsport participates in the PHAC for the following Varsity sports: Boys/Girls Soccer, Boys/Girls Cross Country, Boys/Girls Golf, Boys/Girls Tennis, Boys/Girls Swimming & Diving, Wrestling, Boys/Girls Track & Field. Middle School sports in the PHAC are: Softball, Cross Country, Basketball, Wresting, Soccer and Track & Field.
