Mifflinburg, PA - The boys soccer team started off their 2025 season with a 2-1 overtime victory on the road Monday afternoon in Mifflinburg. Both teams tested their opponent’s goalies in the first ten minutes of the game before junior Connor Hofstrom drilled his shot past a diving keeper. Both senior Dumfer Adjei-Frimpong and sophomore Johannes van Emrik had a pivotal role in the season’s first goal.
The Millionaires led 1-0 at the break and Coach Hofstrom discussed the importance of beginning the second half with intensity. Unfortunately, the Wildcats evened the score midway through the second half.
Neither team found the back of the net in regulation. Fortunately for Williamsport, junior Isaac Balza collected a pass from Hofstrom and buried a shot to give the Millionaires the win.
The boys are at home Thursday afternoon when Hazleton visits the Williamsport Soccer Complex at Balls Mills.
The JV team won, 1-0, as junior Josh Baird tallied the game’s lone goal.
