Boys Varsity Track & Field vs. Selinsgrove Area HS

Millionaires Lose: -
The Williamsport Millionaires hosted their last dual track meet against the Selinsgrove Seals. It was a beautiful day to compete and recognize the senior athletes for senior night. Some highlights from the boy’s team include: Cameron Sims took first place in three events (100 meter dash, 4x100 meter relay, and 200 meter dash) while Jamaire Harden also placed in his three events (first in the 110 meter hurdles, second in the 300 meter hurdles, and third in the 100 meter dash). Nelson Macdonald took first place in the long jump and was a part of the winning 4x100 meter relay team (Sims, Macdonald, Emmanuel Pombor, and Damond Greene). Gavin Reed took first place in the pole vault while Ethan Holcomb took first and second place in the 1600 meter run and 800 meter run, respectively. Aiden Everett took third place in the triple jump and 400 meter dash, while teammate Elijah Frierson took second place in long jump and third place in high jump. Some standouts on the girl’s side include: The throwers for bringing in many team points. Taniyah Martin won both shot put and discus throw with Lucy Ma’afu following her with second place in both events. Olivia Holmes took first place in javelin and third in discus while Erika Haag took second in the javelin throw. Countess Lingard won first place in the long jump and second in the 200 meter dash and teammate Emily Hale placed in her four events. Hale took second in the 1600 meter run, third in the 800-meter run, and was a part of the winning 4x800 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay teams. Anyae Grissom placed first in the 100 meter hurdles and second in the 300 meter hurdles, followed by Prynn Sidleck, who took third in the 300s. Zoey Pophal took second place in triple jump. The Millionaires head to Danville on Saturday for their League Championship meet and will host the District 4 meet next week.

Millionaires Lose: -
The 9th and 10th grade Williamsport Millionaires hosted Jersey Shore, Loyalsock, Mifflinburg, Milton, Selinsgrove, Shikellamy, and Warrior Run at a home meet for the PHAC Freshman-Sophomore Invitational.   Some of the top scorers from the 9th and 10th Millionaires include Calder Diakite, Aiden Turner, Micai Harris, William Pence Kieser, Alonzo Rice, Yazhir Slaughter, Gavin Reed, Connor Poole, Angelo Casas, Jamaire Harden, Vontex Dixon, Owen Trump, and Patrick Nardi.   Some of the top scorers from the Lady Millionaires include: Makyra Brown, Faiza Ola, Isabella Gehron, Elizabeth Stoica, Kathryn Stea, Nataliya Mills, Natani Wright, Michela Peterman, Natalia Mills, Najiyah Smith, Anyae Grissom, Adrianna Clemens, and Keyana Springman.   The Millionaires host the Selinsgrove Seals on May 10th for their final dual meet of the season. It’s a great day to be a Millionaire!

Millionaires Lose: -
Friday evening, our track and field athletes were in action along with 23 other teams at the Lock Haven University 24th Annual Bald Eagle Invite. The Millionaires put together strong performance across the board to take home the team title!      Big performances by:  Gavin Reed who cleared 11 feet in pole vault to set new personal record.   Nelson Macdonald & Yazhir Slaughter leaped for 2nd and 4th in long jump.  Jakiha Kline & Aiden Everett (PR of 40’7”) placed 3rd and 6th in triple jump.  Dade Splain and Nariq Burks both threw 45’+ in shot put.  Garrett Laver landed a 145’2” throw for 3rd in the discus. Later in the meet, Garrett threw a HUGE PR in javelin with a distance of 162’4 which earned him the silver. Jack Fink also PRed with a 133’2” .   In the 2K Steeplechase, William Pence Kieser and Connor Poole took on the event for a 6th and 8th place finish.  Our 4x8 team of Holden Furey, Owen Trump, Patrick Nardi and Ethan Holcomb finished 3rd.  Jamaire Harden finished 3rd in the 110M hurdles and 5th in the 300M hurdles.  The Millionaire sprinters set fire to the track in the 100M dash going 1st and 3rd. Cameron Sims went 10.98 to set a new meet record and teammate Emmanuel Pombor ran a new PR of 11.33.  Williamsport’s speed was on display again with a big win in the 4x1 (Nelson Macdonald, DJ Greene, Angelo Casas, Cameron Sims). The team went 43.05 to set a new meet record and improve their state ranking to #4.  Cameron Sims was not done yet – he later came back to run away with the win in the 200M dash going 22.03, setting yet again his 3rd meet record of the day. Nelson Macdonald worked hard to add team points by taking 7th with a 23.94.  Ethan Holcomb took 3rd in the mile, running a 4:37 for 3rd.   Patrick Nardi took 3rd in the 2 mile and teammate Nathaniel Wiley owned his heat to set a new PR.  Outstanding effort by all– hard work at practice and individual improvements by the athletes have made the Millionaires a strong team competitor this spring!

The Millionaires opened their competition season in Chambersburg on Saturday at the Tim Cook Memorial Invitational.
