Millionaires Lose: 0 - 1
Wannop was amazing in loss for Williamsport NOV 16, 2020 JON GERARDI Sports Editor jgerardi@sungazette.com MECHANICSBURG — Elliott Wannop never backed down from any shot he saw Saturday at Eagle View Middle School in Mechanicsburg. It didn’t matter what Cumberland Valley player was taking the shot or from how far out, the Williamsport goalkeeper was determined to stop it. Wannop jumped high and wrangled away a ball near the crossbar. There were times he’d dive to his left or right to block a shot. There were times he’d run into a swarm of Eagles and grab a loose ball. Cumberland Valley fans in attendance remarked how he was getting a workout against the Eagles. Wannop was definitely tested, but it wasn’t any different from any other game which the 6-foot-4 goalie plays. It’s what Williamsport coach Lee Kaar has become accustomed to seeing every game. “He’s been like that all year and he was like that last year. We really didn’t lean on him or have to lean on him his sophomore year, but we knew his freshman and sophomore year he was going to be a stud and you saw it Saturday,” Kaar said. “He clearly had a good game, put himself in the right position, communicates well, has good punts and good goal kicks. He’s a strong kid and we’re going to miss him next year.” Wannop and the Millionaires lost Saturday in the PIAA Class AAAA quarterfinals, 1-0, but Wannop did everything in his ability to prevent the Eagles from scoring more goals. Cumberland Valley held a 22-2 shots-on-goal advantage and fired 34 total shots against Williamsport. There weren’t many times Wannop got to take a break. Seven minutes into the second half, Cumberland Valley’s Daniel Erickson rifled a shot high toward the right post which Wannop read perfectly and jumped to stop. He got his fingers on the ball to slow it down and caught it before it could roll in the net or get away from him. Three minutes later, Samuel Lundblad blasted a high shot from 15 yards out, trying to sneak it under the crossbar. The shot hit the crossbar and fell straight down. Wannop caught the ball as he fell to his back, preventing a goal. If he wasn’t making plays like that, you’d see him diving and extending his hands to either post to block low shots or catch anything in range. “He’s not scared to come off his line. It helps that he’s 6-4 and he’s got a solid frame on him. He’s built. So he doesn’t shy away from contact,” Kaar said. “The last two years we’ve been kind of talking to him about how he’s got to be coming through. That’s gotta be you coming out.” It finally took a perfectly-placed header from Zach Blocher with three minutes to play in the game for Cumberland Valley to beat Wannop and the Millionaires. But Williamsport was in a position to win the game because of its senior keeper.

Millionaires Win: 3 - 1
Milford, PA - The Williamsport Boys Soccer team won the District 2-4 AAAA Championship Friday night as they upended the #1 seed Delaware Valley on the Warriors home pitch.  The Millionaires opened the scoring in the first half when junior Jimmy Pombor received a quick outlet pass down the sideline and zipped past two Delaware Valley defenders.  Pombor's cross came into the box low and hard, allowing Hemberth Pena-Vasquez to step over it for teammate Angelo Casas to bury in the back of the net.  The top seeded Warriors responded quickly scoring the equalizer less than ten minutes later.  The teams went into the break even with one goal apiece.   Williamsport's midfielders (Thomas Harper, Owen Kaar, Zach Lake, Kaleb McKeon, Jimmy Pombor, and Connor Poole) seemed to start the second half with more intensity as they maintained much of the possession and began applying immediate pressure upon the Delaware Valley back line and keeper.  Eight minutes into the second half, Connor Poole delivered a cross to the chest of Jimmy Pombor just outside of the eighteen-yard line.  Pombor then instantly laid off a pass for Pena-Vasquez who blasted his shot past the Warrior keeper to give Williamsport a one goal lead.  With most of the second half still to play, the Millionaires continued to cause issues for the Warrior midfielders and defenders with their constant off-ball runs as well as by moving the ball quickly around the pitch.  Then, with just over thirteen minutes remaining, Thomas Harper and Pombor worked a quick combination of passes along the sideline to elude Delaware Valley's midfielders.  Pombor attracted the attention of three defenders and he was able to slide a pass into the path of Pena-Vasquez who beat the Warrior keeper to extend Williamsport's lead by two goals.     Delaware Valley began playing with a sense of urgency, but the Williamsport defensive group, led by Tyler Fausnaught, and goalie Elliott Wannop (11 saves) limited the number of quality opportunities the Warriors were able to have.     This marks the fourth District Championship in the last five years for the Williamsport boys.  Williamsport awaits the champion from District 3 for a quarterfinal matchup in the Pennsylvania State tournament.     Shots on goal Wmspt: 13 DV: 12   Saves Wmspt, Elliott Wannop: 11 DV, Zack Mathews: 10   Corner kicks Wmspt: 4 DV: 1   Fouls Wmspt: 6 DV: 10

Millionaires Win: 1 - 0
The Wolfpack from Wilkes-Barre entered the District 2-4 AAAA semifinal with one of their standout players recently eclipsing the 100 goals scored earlier in the week.  Wilkes-Barre's 'three-headed' offensive monster of Nilon, Portee, and Berry seemed poised to pick apart the Williamsport midfield and defense, but a solid effort by the Millionaire midfielders and back line, and a few timely saves by keeper Elliott Wannop gave the boys in red a different idea for the outcome.   "We were really pleased with how we played the first half.  Our back line and midfield were strong, which allowed our attack to become more threatening," noted coach Kaar just before the second half began.  While the game remained scoreless at the break, Williamsport seemed to be the aggressors of the first forty as they were able to get behind Wilkes-Barre's back line on occasion.  Kaar continued, "Obviously we would like to come away with a goal or two, but we liked the fact that the guys created multiple opportunities in the final third of the pitch.  Wilkes-Barre couldn't key on one guy; we had several zipping around the eighteen while we were able to continue to work the ball into the channels as well as for the far-post runs."  Still, with Williamsport utilizing some excellent off-ball runs, the Millionaires were not able to capitalize on them in the first half.     Whatever adjustments Wilkes-Barre made during the break, they seemed to help as the Wolfpack gained some momentum early in the half.  The three forwards from Wilkes-Barre, who have caused havoc on so many opponents this year, were beginning to find their groove.  "We didn't see Wilkes-Barre really make any tactical changes to start the second half, so it was just a matter of our defense (lead by Tyler Fausnaught, Michael Collyer, and Evan Beiter) forcing their forwards to make a negative pass," one Williamsport coach stated after the game, and then said, "Those three had a strong game today."     The second half of the game also saw its fair share of warnings as four Yellow cards were issued (two to each team) for various fouls.  Those cautions didn't interrupt the Williamsport attack though as their midfielders and forwards continued to put pressure on the Wolfpack middies and defenders.  Finally, with less than ten minutes remaining in the game, sophomore midfielder Owen Kaar found space to deliver a pass to junior midfielder Jimmy Pombor, who eluded several defenders inside the eighteen before burying a shot in the side netting, giving Williamsport the one goal advantage.     The final minutes of the game were frantic as Wilkes-Barre made a few desperate attempts towards the Millionaire goal.  With less than a minute to play, the Wolfpack earned two corner kicks, but the defense held its ground and cleared both attempts to secure the victory.   Williamsport travels to Delaware Valley, who earned the #1 seed, and disposed of Wyoming Valley West in the other District 2-4 semifinal.  The District II/IV Class 4A Championship game is scheduled to begin at 5:00 on Friday, November 6th.

Millionaires Win: 5 - 1
Williamsport Soccer Complex - On what was a beautiful fall day in central Pennsylvania, the Williamsport Millionaires boys' soccer team played their final home game of the regular season Saturday afternoon.  Williamsport is coming off of two consecutive wins from earlier in the week, but Milton is having a great year and has already racked up ten wins themselves.   "We knew they have talent and speed.  We wanted our guys to play with a lot of intensity and set the tone early," commented coach Kaar after the game.  The Millionaires immediately pressured Milton's midfielders into a turnover in their half and then Williamsport's midfielders and forwards charged towards the box, making various runs off the ball which occupied many Milton defenders.  Jimmy Pombor, a junior, wasted little time and exploited an opening near the eighteen and ripped a shot into the upper corner for an early lead.  All of this action occurred in just the first minute and a half of the game.  With the Millionaires up a goal, they settled down a little bit, but they were still in control and dictated the pace of play for the rest of the half.  Midway through the first half, Pombor crafted his way into space and delivered a cross to senior Hemberth Pena-Vasquez, who buried his shot to take a two-goal advantage into the break.   Coach Kaar stated, "Having a two-goal lead at the break is nice, but we didn't want the guys to sit back and allow Milton to gain any momentum.  We stressed how important it was to maintain the high intensity for the first ten minutes of the second half."  Pombor and his fellow middies, along with the forwards, took that message to heart as Williamsport took the kick-off and used all of thirty-four seconds to score a goal.  Senior Tyler Fausnaught sent a great ball forward to where Pombor was able to get on the end of it and slide a pass in to Pena-Vasquez who calmly slipped a shot into the side netting.  The Milton players looked dejected to say the least.   The Black Panthers didn't give up, however.  Midway through the second half, a cross was sent in from the left side and even though the Williamsport defender had good positioning, the Milton midfielder was able to deflect it past the keeper for a goal of their own.  As Milton began to pick up their energy though, the Millionaires again exploited the Milton defense.  Pena-Vasquez received the outlet pass near midfield and the Williamsport had another great counter attack.  Two defenders converged on Pena-Vasquez, but he placed the ball into space behind, where Pombor collected the pass and easily eluded the Black Panther keeper to put the Millionaires up four goals to one.   The final Williamsport score came from freshman Cole Wheeler when he received a pass at his feet inside the box and blasted it by the outstretched hands of the diving keeper.   Williamsport ends its regular season with a seven and five record.  They now await the start of the AAAA, District 2-4 playoffs, which are scheduled to begin November 2nd.

Millionaires Win: 1 - 0
Williamsport Soccer Complex - Coming off of a rough showing at Lewisburg last week, the Williamsport boys' soccer team earned another tally in the win column last night at their home complex.  As a light mist fell throughout most of the game, both keepers were tested.  It was Williamsport, however, who took advantage of solid midfield play and scored first, midway through the first half.     "Jersey Shore is a tough team; they're physical.  I'm glad to see our guys stepped up tonight and were aggressive from the first whistle," commented coach Kaar after the game.  The Millionaire midfielders and forwards kept pressure on the Bulldog back line by working the ball deep into their offensive third, causing Jersey Shore to constantly work hard to clear the ball.  Junior midfielder Jimmy Pombor netted the game's only goal when he received a pass near the top of the eighteen, eluded two defenders, and buried his shot in to the back of the far post.     After the break, Jersey Shore was able to penetrate into Williamsport's defense, but senior keeper Elliott Wannop quickly deflected the close-range shot, keeping the one-goal lead for the Millionaires.  The Bulldogs began to gain some momentum late in the second half, but the Williamsport middies and defenders were able to keep Jersey Shore from having any great looks at the net again.  Williamsport had a great effort from so many guys tonight as the win brings them back up to five and five on the year.   The Millionaires travel to Montoursville Wednesday night, under the lights, to test their skills against the Warriors.

Millionaires Win: 2 - 0
Millionaires Shut Out Wildcats   Williamsport Soccer Complex - Looking to improve their record after last Thursday's tough league loss at Middleburg, the Williamsport Millionaires boys' soccer team hosted the Mifflinburg Wildcats on Monday afternoon.  The home team recorded sixteen shots on goal on their way to a 2-0 league win.  While their offense rocketed double digit shots on the Wildcat keeper, it was their midfield and defense that allowed only two shots, which senior keeper Elliott Wannop collected easily.     "I thought we did a good job of maintaining possession and firing off shots, but we need to improve in regards to finishing those opportunities and coming away with goals," noted coach Kaar after the game.  The Millionaires controlled the ball and worked it deep into the Mifflinburg defensive end of the pitch all game.  Senior Thomas Harper fired a perfect cross into the mix late in the first half where junior Jimmy Pombor volleyed the pass into the back of the net for a one goal advantage going into the break.     In the second half, Williamsport started right where they left off by possessing the ball and working it around the pitch and from side to side.  Kaar commented, "Mifflinburg always does a decent job of compacting their defense within the final twenty yards and while we were able to have some good looks at the goal, we didn't capitalize on those chances.  We let them hang around and gain some confidence by simply keeping us off the scoreboard." Freshmen Angelo Casas and Connor Poole used great runs to continue to pressure the defensive line of Mifflinburg, while Jimmy Pombor, Hemberth Pena-Vasquez, and the Williamsport midfielders kept peppering the net with shots.  The Millionaires got their second goal when Connor Poole drove a corner kick in to the box where a leaping Pombor headed it home.  The final whistle blew as Williamsport tallied another league win.   The Millionaires are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to battle the undefeated Lewisburg Green Dragons.

Millionaires Lose: 1 - 2
Millionaires Can't Hold Off Mustangs' Surge   Middleburg, PA - The Williamsport boys soccer team seemed to limp in to Mustang country Thursday evening.  Coach Kaar noted before the game, "It's a great atmosphere here and the guys seem ready to go.  It should be a good game."   Williamsport began the first half with a much different energy and attitude than earlier in the week.  The Millionaires were able to maintain possession of the ball and utilize the wingers more in the attack.  "We were much more aggressive tonight.  I was pleased with our effort tonight.  Midd-West is a solid team and, if you take away a minute and a half of sloppy play, we're in great shape," commented coach Kaar after the final whistle blew.  Williamsport got on the board first when junior Jimmy Pombor sent a through ball to freshman forward, Angelo Casas, who quickly played it across the six yard line where sophomore Zach Lake took one touch before sliding it past the outstretched Mustang keeper's fingers.  Kaar continued, "The guys really made an effort to play together tonight.  They were able to get the ball wide, which allowed us some freedom to move the ball in the middle part of the pitch."  Williamsport held a slim lead, 1-0, heading into the break.   Due to an injury, the Millionaires had to adjust a bit to begin the second half.  The Williamsport boys continued to be able to possess the ball in the second half, but Midd-West was able to apply pressure on the Millionaires deep in their defensive half.  Ten minutes into the second half, Midd-West capitalized on a loose ball in front of the Williamsport goal to even the score at one a piece.  Not even two minutes later, the Mustangs were applying heavy pressure and eventually found the go-ahead goal.  With just over twenty minutes to play, the Millionaires had plenty of time to mount their own comeback.  Several times, late in the second half, Williamsport pressured the Midd-West back line and keeper, but came up empty each time.  Midd-West secured the victory by clearing one last attempt from the scrappy Millionaires.     Coach Kaar commented, "I really can't fault our effort tonight; I liked the energy we had tonight.  Obviously, we still need to improve on protecting our box, inside our eighteen, but there were a lot of things I liked about tonight's game."   The JV team lost to Midd-West earlier in the evening, but had strong games from Jack Murafka, Sam Radulski, Jett Johnson, and Soliman Elgabry.  Williamsport is back in action on Monday as they host the Wildcats from Mifflinburg.

Millionaires Lose: 0 - 3
Williamsport Soccer Complex - After going toe to toe with Lewisburg, the Williamsport Millionaires knew they couldn't take a step back.  Even though they lost to Lewisburg, the Millionaire coaches were hoping to use the great effort they had over the weekend and continue that into today's contest.  "Selinsgrove has a loaded lineup this year as well, so I knew that the guys would have to bring the same intensity to this game," noted coach Kaar.  He continued, "Our guys didn't have the energy from the start - I didn't have them ready."   It was evident that in the pouring rain, Williamsport struggled to generate the offensive production needed to threaten the Seals' keeper.  Selinsgrove got on the board midway through the first half on a rebounded ball that was originally headed out by the defensive unit of Williamsport, but not out of danger.  The Millionaires tried to work the pitch, but labored to use the width to their advantage.  "We were too direct in our attack today; we didn't utilize the width or the pitch as we have in past games," Kaar mentioned after the game.  Down by a goal with less than five minutes to play in the half, Selinsgrove was pressing Williamsport's back line and keeper, but nothing would have stopped the Seals' second goal.  "The kid hits a screamer from outside the corner of the eighteen that hit inside the far post, upper ninety.  Our outside middie had pressure on their man - it was just a nice goal," recalled Kaar.  Going into the break, the Millionaires were down by two goals.   Coach Kaar said, "We mentioned at the break how it was critical for us to utilize the width more frequently in order to find success moving forward.  I mentioned to the guys how important it was for them to communicate effectively with one another and play as a team."  Williamsport had one of its best moments when freshman Angelo Casas had a one versus one, but Angelo's shot was tipped over the crossbar by the outstretched fingertips of the Seals' keeper.     Inside ten minutes to go in the game, Williamsport gained some momentum and began finding space in their offensive third of the pitch, but it was Selinsgrove who buried a third goal to thwart any thoughts of a comeback and put the game out of reach.     The Millionaires are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Middleburg to test their skills against the Mustangs from Midd-West high school.

Millionaires Lose: 0 - 1
Dragons Hold on to Beat the Millionaires   Williamsport Soccer Complex - As Saturday afternoon provided the perfect weather for a soccer match in Williamsport, the Millionaires and state powerhouse Lewisburg Green Dragons offered up a pretty solid matchup for the fans in attendance.  Lewisburg came into the contest undefeated and Williamsport entered Saturday's League contest fresh off a victory on Thursday night.     Lewisburg flexed thier muscles for most of the first half as they controlled the pace of play and pressed the Millionaires deep into their defensive third of the pitch.  Ten minutes into the game, the defensive unit for Williamsport gave Lewisburg senior Ben Liscum enough space for him to fire off a quality shot.  The ball whistled into the net for an early one goal advantage for the visitors.  "I thought our back line and keeper actually played well today.  We lost focus for a brief moment in the first half and they were able to capitalize on that. Lewisburg has too many weapons all over the pitch and we knew it was going to take a full eighty minutes of intense energy and focus," commented coach Kaar after the game.     The second half began with the Green Dragons continuing to fire long range shots at the goal, but Williamsport senior keeper Elliott Wannop was able to collect those without too much difficulty.  Also, Williamsport did have the benefit of the post deflecting a ball out of the goal behind Wannop.  The Millionaires gained a little momentum in the second half as they were able to have spurts of possession in their offensive half.  Senior Thomas Harper sent in a long range shot that just missed the crossbar and minutes later, sophomore Owen Kaar sent a free kick towards the box from 40 yards out where senior Tyler Fausnaught got a head on it, but, unfortunately, wasn't able to generate enough power towards the goal.  Williamsport junior Jimmy Pombor and the offensive cast of Angelo Casas, Zach Lake, and Hemberth Pena-Vasquez did penetrate Lewisburg's back line on occasion, but weren't able to connect on any of those opportunities.   Kaar noted, "We didn't get the result we wanted today, but all of our guys stepped onto the pitch ready to go - we had the energy and we were aggressive.  If we continue to put in that effort each game, good things will happen for us."    Sophomore Jett Johnson was the lone goal scorer for the Millionaires in the second game, but it wasn't enough as the JV team lost their game as well.   It doesn't get any easier for the boys as Williamsport will battle Selinsgrove and Midd-West this week.

Millionaires Win: 2 - 1
Millionaires Edge Ironmen   Danville, PA - Williamsport traveled to Danville for their first away game this season for their second consecutive game under lights.  While the Millionaires came away with a victory, they know the level of play needs to improve.  "We definitely didn't make it easy on ourselves by not utilizing the entire width of the pitch tonight, we need to do a better job at using what the opponent is giving us," noted coach Kaar.  He continued, "It wasn't necessarily one of our better games, but I don't think we played poorly either.  We need to continue to work hard and improve upon on how we transition through the middle third of the pitch."     The Millionaires nearly had an early lead as they had two decent looks at the goal inside the eighteen in the first three minutes of the game, but weren't able to capitalize on either occasion.  After that, both teams had their opportunities around the edge of the box, but neither team saw a great look as most shots sailed over the crossbar or right to a keeper.  The first half ended in a scoreless tie.   Williamsport began the second half with some crucial energy.  With less than five minutes ticking off the clock, Williamsport pressured Danville's back line and keeper two more times.  Finally, at the 36:27-mark, junior Jimmy Pombor carved his way through several defenders and fired a shot that ricocheted off of a Danville defender's leg for the first goal of the game.  Five minutes later, Williamsport keeper collected a cross from the Ironmen and launched it towards midfield where sophomore Zach Lake brought it down with one touch and delivered a pass to Pombor.  Pombor guided the ball to the right edge of the box and blistered a shot up and over the Danville keeper for the two-goal lead.   After being down by two, Danville seemed to then experience their own spark of energy though and pressured Williamsport back in their defensive third of the pitch.  Williamsport was called for a foul just outside the box and the Ironmen capitalized on that opportunity to cut the lead in half.  For the last twenty minutes, both teams had their moments of possession and average looks at the net, but neither team took advantage and the game ended with a 2-1 score, in Williamsport's favor.  "It was a physical game.  I thought our defensive group worked hard tonight - they played well," noted Kaar.   Williamsport's JV team lost a close game earlier in the evening, 0-1.  The Millionaires are back in action this Saturday at the Williamsport Soccer Complex as they host state powerhouse, Lewisburg.

Williamsport Soccer Complex - The Williamsport Millionaires boys soccer team played their first night game of the young season last night under the lights on the Balls Mills turf.  "I think most of the kids who play seem to have a little extra energy when they play a night game," stated coach Kaar.  The Millionaire boys, in their all cherry-red uniforms, seemed to agree as they raced out to a large first half lead and cruised to an 8-1 victory last night.   Junior Jimmy Pombor was a force to be reckoned with in last night's game as he, along with his teammates in the midfield, controlled the pace of play all night long.  Williamsport immediately utilized spacing and give-and-goes throughout the pitch to create numerous chances within the first several minutes of the game.  Three and a half minutes into the game, freshman Angelo Casas opened Williamsport's scoring when he received a pass from Pombor, giving the Millionaires an early one goal advantage.  Just two minutes later, Pombor found fellow senior Kaleb McKeon, who was just inside the eighteen, for a blast into the back of the net to go up by two.  Coach Kaar added, "Jimmy attracts a lot of attention and the other forwards and middies were able to work off his runs to get great looks at the net tonight."  Then, sophomore Zach Lake got involved in the scoring action as he also drilled home a pass, inside the eighteen, from Pombor.  The Millionaires scored six goals from ten shots on goal in the first half.   The Millionaire boys tallied two more goals in the second half, one again from Pombor and also one from Casas.  On the night sophomore Owen Kaar tallied two assists and senior Thomas Harper added one as well.  After the game, coach Kaar noted, "It was good to see more movement off the ball and a little more creativity in our final third.  We're still not 100% as we're dealing with some injuries, but tonight was a step in the right direction."   The JV team played to a 1-1 tie.  The Millionaires created quality opportunities, but were only able to capitalize on the one.  Freshman Cole Wheeler netted Williamsport's lone goal.   Williamsport is on the road Thursday night as they test their skills against the Danville Ironmen.

Millionaires Lose: 1 - 2
Williamsport Soccer Complex - The Millionaires' boys soccer team welcomed their cross-town rival for a non-league game on Saturday morning.  Loyalsock entered the game on a three-game win streak and although it's still early in the season, they're undefeated.  Having only given up one goal so far, the Lancers were ready for the challenge going up against Williamsport.   In the first half, both teams experienced their fair share of possession of the ball and the action seemed to back and forth, but it was Loyalsock who gained momentum near the end of the first half as they continued to press the Millionaires.  Williamsport's defense held strong though and while Loyalsock was able to strike a few shots at keeper Elliott Wannop, they never allowed the Lancers a great look at the goal and the half ended with no scoring.    In the second half, the intensity picked up for both squads.  Loyalsock opened the scoring as their forward was able to maneuver around Williamsport's keeper for a one-goal advantage.  Williamsport began to go on the attack with more persistence and, finally, with less than ten minutes to go, junior standout Jimmy Pombor netted the equalizer.  The Millionaires had two other decent looks at the net, but couldn't come away with a game winner.  With one minute and eighteen seconds left in the game, the Lancers were awarded a penalty kick.  After converting on that opportunity, Loyalsock secured the victory.     The Williamsport JV team beat Loyalsock, 2-1.  Freshman Connor Poole scored both goals for the Millionaires.   Williamsport hosts Shikellamy on Tuesday night at the Williamsport Soccer Complex for its first night game of the season.  The JV game begins at 5:30 with the Varsity contest to follow.

Millionaires Win: 3 - 1
The Millionaires opened their season at the Williamsport Soccer Complex with a 3-1 victory over the Wildcats from Central Mountain on Senior Night last night.  The visitors began the game with the ball, but junior Jimmy Pombor and his midfield mates quickly gained possession and set the tone early.  Sophomore Zach Lake lit up the scoreboard first for the Millionaires when he outhustled his defender on a perfectly placed through ball by Pombor just two minutes into the game.  Fifteen minutes later, sophomore Owen Kaar served up a beautiful corner kick and junior Logan Hall blasted it into the back of the net for a two goal advantage.  Finally, with just over five minutes to play in the first half, Jimmy Pombor attracted several defenders and once again found a way to get Zach Lake the ball inside the eighteen for Lake's second goal of the night.   Williamsport gave up a penalty with under eight minutes to play in the game for Central Mountain's lone goal.   The JV team battled to a 0-0 tie.   The Millionaires play again Saturday morning at 11:00 at the Williamsport Soccer Complex as they host Loyalsock.
