In a tri-meet at Cumberland Valley with Parkland, the Williamsport swimming team had three swimmers qualify for districts by hitting time standards.

Williamsport’s Sydney Kelley hit a district qualifying time in the 200 free by swimming a 1:58.58 to take first place in the event, winning by three seconds. In the boys competition, Williamsport’s Nate Wiley swam a 56.63 to hit a district qualifying mark in the 100 fly. Williamsport’s Keller Griswold also found himself hitting a district qualifying time as he finished in 50.61 to win the boys 100 free by a second.

“It has been great to see all the kids swim so well this year,” Williamsport coach Brett Johnson said. “Today we had a lot of PRs and a lot of the kids hit their district times from last year.”

On the girls side, Cumberland Valley won with a score of 152, followed by Parkland (109) and Williamsport (48). Cumberland Valley’s boys team won with a score of 133 while Parkland was second (121) and Williamsport third (58).

Kelley was a two-time winner on Saturday, picking up a victory as well in the 100 free with a time of 55.27.

Williamsport went 1-2 in the girls diving competition. Lyndie Peters won with a score of 205.20 and Lily Lindsay took second in 186.45.

Williamsport’s team of Kendall Cohick, Molly Garison, Aubrey Glosser and Kelley took third in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:55.50, just three seconds from first.

Cal Hockman finished third in the boys 200 IM with a time of 2:10.82 and then placed third in the 100 back with a time of 58.52.

In the 100 breast, Williamsport’s Parker Johnson swam a 1:07.08 for a third-place finish. Williamsport’s Keller Griswold swam a 22.93, just 0.40 seconds from first place in the boys 50 free. Cumberland Valley’s Owen Brewer swam a 22.53. Williamsport diver Dom Horning finished third with a score of 203.60.

Hockman and Griswold were part of Williamsport’s 400 free relay team along with Cooper Allmaras and Jaden Rankinen who swam a 3:28.11 to take second. Their time was just five seconds from first.
