Williamsport Wrestling Awards Season Honors for MS & HS Teams

The Williamsport wrestling team recently handed out awards at its season-end celebration. The Millionaires finished the season with an 11-3 record, including a 5-1 mark in the Heartland Conference Division I.
For the first time in school history, Williamsport captured the District 4/9 Class AAA dual meet championship, coming from behind to beat both DuBois and Clearfield in the tournament to earn its first trip to the Giant Center in Hershey for the PIAA Team Wrestling Championships. The Millionaires crowned a trio of District 4/9 individual champions with Cael Nasdeo (106 pounds), Carter Weaver (120) and Riley Bower (138) earning district gold. Bower and Weaver both qualified for the PIAA championships with runner-up finishes at the Northwest Regional tournament in Altoona.
Nasdeo, Weaver and Morrone were named to District 4’s All-Academic first team. Bower, Riley Harris and Owen Mahon were named to the District 4 All-Academic second team.

Millionaire Wrestlers Earn District IV All-Academic Honors

The PIAA District IV Wrestling Coaches Association released their 2019-20 All-Academic Team recently; the Millionaire wrestling team was very well represented on this team, with 6 wrestlers earning all-academic honors. The team had their best regular season record in many years, going 11-3 in dual meets, which included a district team title and participating in the PIAA State dual meet championship this year.
Earning First-Team, District IV All Academic Honors:
- Roman Morrone, 10th Grade, with a season record of 32-11
- Cael Nasdeo, 9th Grade, with a season record of 27-7
- Carter Weaver, 9th Grade, with a season record of 24-4 and participating in the PIAA State Individual Tournament.
Earning Second Team, District IV All Academic Honors:
- Riley Harris, 11th Grade, with a season record of 10-6
- Riley Bower, 10th Grade, with a season record of 33-4 and participating in the PIAA State Individual Tournament as a District & Regional Champion.
- Owen Mahon, 12th Grade, with a season record of 24-16
